Residents are invited to have their say on a new draft partnership plan to protect and improve local nature.
The Bracknell Forest Biodiversity Action Plan runs for six years, from 2024 to 2029.
The plan contains objectives and targets for enhancing six key habitat types and their associated species.
It builds on the last action plan for local nature and was developed by Bracknell Forest Council and local partners.
Feedback received in the four-week public consultation will be used to update the draft plan before it is finalised this year.
Stephen Chown, head of natural estates, said: “Biodiversity is the variety of all life. It is the animals, plants, fungi, and even microorganisms like bacteria that can be found in an area.
- “We have rich biodiversity in our greenspaces, which makes Bracknell Forest a special place to live in.
- “Healthy ecosystems are essential for society, improving the air we breathe and providing the food we eat.
- “We are committed to protecting and enhancing local biodiversity. To guide this work, we have developed our biodiversity action plan (BAP).
- “The BAP already contains feedback from key partners in the Bracknell Forest Nature Partnership, following workshops we hosted in 2023.
- “We have now opened the floor for wider feedback on our plan in our four-week public consultation.
- “Anyone is welcome to have their say. Whether you live or work in the borough or visit for recreation or to enjoy the wildlife, we want to hear your views.”
