The Community Room at Locks Ride Pavilion
Built in 2025, the Community Room at Locks Ride Recreation Ground is the ideal facility for community groups.
The site is home to a large play area including zip wires, splash pad and a sand pit, large open space, football pitches and cricket pitches (for regular hirers only), barbecue areas and a refreshment cabin. Dogs on lead only will be allowed within the cabin fenced area. NO dogs allowed in any other area of the park on or off lead!
The room is 9.1m by 7.7m and 5m high at its apex. With tinted windows or bifold doors on three aspects and air conditioning, the room is bright, welcoming and cheering. Occupancy limites: Standing 60; Seated 46.
Amenities:
• two female loos, two male loos, two accessible loos and an accessible shower;
• kitchen with sink and draining board, fridge, kettle, hob and oven, baking trays, extractor fan, cups, saucers, quarterplates, glasses, jugs and cutlery and a serving hatch;
• 8 folding rectangular 2’ x 6’ tables and 20 folding chairs in dedicated storage;
• Cleaning equipment: hoover, mop & bucket, detergents, dustpan & brush, bins. External cleaners come in Monday for 1.5 hours.
• Four disabled parking spaces and use of car parking for the recreation ground (20)

The space is available for hire to regular community groups Monday – Friday 8am until dusk at £24 per hour (including VAT), with a 1-hour minimum hire and booking increments of 15 minutes.

Sports Facilities
Locks Ride recreation ground offers a well-maintained sports facility suitable for a variety of activities, including football and cricket. The pitches are regularly tended to ensure a high-quality playing surface throughout the year. There are also modern changing rooms equipped with showers, and accessible facilities, providing a comfortable and practical space for teams to prepare and refresh before and after games. These amenities contribute to a welcoming environment for organized sports groups.
